When the prince of the Realm was murdered, many things changed. Although the Noble Court governs as best they can, crops refuse to grow, and every last clock has stopped. Life goes on, but for how long? A mysterious and brutal killer stalks the alleys of the capital city, and below lies the unmapped underground, where goblin gangs fight for survival.
Jinx is a Tormentor, hired by the desperate to drive her targets mad. On her latest job, she uncovers a plan which may save the Realm, but may also make things worse. She also meets Kiku, a sheltered boy away from home for the first time. Kiku is about to discover the wonders and the terrors of the Realm, and Jinx must decide what she’s willing to sacrifice to save it.
