So, today is an interesting day!

Woke up to an interesting stir in Utah over women's rights...or lack thereof.

It's not all bad today though! Twitter held some awesome-sauce when Vera Brosgol of now over Return to Sender webcomic and other awesome internet illustration fame, found that one of her girl-friendly illios had found it's mutilated way on to hottopic.com. It turns out that hottopic has claimed that the infringing shirt will be down by today, according to Vera's twitter feed, and they seem to have complied already!

The thing about it was that not only did they steal her art work, but the "designer" made one of the girls into a guy. Way to go, you are twice the loser, rip-off-person. The band the shirt was for seems to also have taken it off their site.

In the fastest condemning of stealing original art I've ever seen Girlamatic creator of Shrub Monkeys, KT Shy, added a funny anecdote to the fray on her twitpic. I highly recommend clicking for the chuckles.

I'm personally waiting for Spring seriously now. Wher I am we're having our first ray of sunshine in days. It's lifting my spirits in this awful economy, awfully long winter (which is part of climate change...), and awful news cycle. It seems every time you try to find out what's going on in the world it seems like more and more insanity is being accepted as reality. Common Sense, where have you gone?

February is drawing to a close, and that marks the month of no podcast. Lynn Lau had the month off, but no fear she'll be back with out popular GAMcast very soon! Be sure to follow Lynn or @girlamatic on twitter to find out when we're live and when to send in your questions.

We're still recovering from the hacking that we received earlier this month. We hope most of you have been able to access the site and your favorite comics!

We're still on the look out for some inspired intrepid bloggers to add to our girlamatic roster! If you're passionate about comics, women's rights, art, or really anything we think is cool send us a pitch at gam.editor@gmail.com!

Hope you have a fine rest of the winter!
More soon!

Today is Nation Human Trafficking Awareness Day. Were you aware that slavery still existed? Were you aware that 27 million people around the world are currently enslaved? Or that the majority of those fellow human beings being bought and sold are women and girls trafficked into the commercial sex industry?

If you were not aware, you are now.

Over 80 webcomics creators including fellow Girlamatic creators: KT Shy (Shrub Monkeys), Traci Spencer (Compass), and Matt Bayne, whose comic (Knights of the Shroud) is about a group of young women fighting to end slavery, participated in the Comic Creator's Alliance.

The Comic Creator's Alliance, began by Lora Innes (The Dreamer), gathered the talents of 87 webcomics creators who all contributed an illustration of one of their female characters to a group "shot" desktop available with donation to the drive.

The drive will aid two organizations to stop human trafficking. 100% of all donations will be divided equally between Love146.org & Grace Haven House. These organization fight everyday to help victims regain their lives and fight human trafficking.

Please, today, make a donation to the Comic Creator's Alliance.
And if you want to know more about the reality of modern slavery please visit Love146 and read their extensive archive of personal accounts and statistics.

Thank you for your help!

Many, many apologies for the delay of this episode. We had encountered technical difficulties like you wouldn't believe, and Svet's an utter sweetheart to bear with it all. To make up for this, dear listeners, stay tuned for outtakes and goofiness at the veeeeeeeeery end of the podcast.

People, if you only knew what goes on behind the scenes over here.

Thanks again to Deb Aoki for mentioning Svet's return to Girlamatic, and don't forget to check out this spotlight interview of Svet!</itunes:summary>
