April 29: There really was an appalling want of discipline in the barracks. I decided I’d be better off at the inn than lodged with those ruffians, so I paid a page a copper to tell Stefan, and left. The three story inn had no name. It was the only one on the road for a day’s ride in any direction, so the innkeeper didn’t see the point. But it was comfortable and warm, the food was good, and the baths were hot.
