Oregon Trail Hiatus and the Return of Reader Questions!
Hey guys, remember that last post about all the crap going on with my life? Well, after realizing that I am going to be moving in a little over a month and starting to freak out right and proper about it, I have decided that it might be best for me, my mental health, and everybody around me if I put the comic on a short hiatus until I am settled in Portland. I hope everybody understands!
But that doesn’t mean there will be radio silence for the entire month of September, oh no! I have decided to bring back Reader Questions!
This won’t be exactly like the February Reader Questions, however, as I won’t be doing a question every single day. I will do at least one a week, perhaps two, until I am settled down and ready to work on the comic proper again.
So Ask Your Questions Here In the Comments: If you’re lucky maybe I will answer them!
And even though I won’t have time to devote to the comic, I’ll still probably be posting mindless stress-relief doodles and such over at deviantART or Tumblr (I’ve been doing a lot of stupid Team Fortress 2 fanart lately, and that will probably continue until it is out of my system), so hopefully all these things will tide y’all over until I’m able to get the Skin Deep story rolling again!

Hey guys, just a heads up: the comic may be experiencing some slowdown and erratic updates for the next couple months. Here are the reasons:
• I have finally decided to get help with my crippling anxiety issues and have started anti-anxiety medication. While it should help in the long-run it is currently wreaking havoc on my body while I adjust to it, causing nausea, tremors, headaches, blurred vision, etc. This is making it very difficult to stay focused and draw.
• We are heading into the busy season at my current place of employment and have been cleared for overtime, which means I will be working more hours and have less hours in the week to devote to the comic.
• My husband and I are gearing up to move across the country at the beginning of October, which means September will be largely devoted to figuring out how exactly to move and packing and all that fun crap that I have no idea how to do. This is also why I am trying to soak up as many overtime hours as possible, in order to help ease the blow that moving will surely do to our bank account.
• My home internet continues to be a big fat jerk and posting promptly may be out of the question and rely more on “when can I sneak to the library and do all my internet work” rather than “It is midnight that means it’s time to post a comic.”
So as you can see, life is starting to conspire against me in several different ways. I will still be working on the comic and posting as much as possible, but if I miss an update here or there I hope you all can understand. If you currently only check on the comic every Tuesday for updates, you can always subscribe to my RSS feed, follow me on Twitter or Tumblr, or watch me on deviantART, as those will update whenever there is a new comic page.
I also have two more sketch commissions due (sorry they are taking so long guys, and thank you both so much for your patience!), and I will probably not be opening up the queue until after I move. I would like to get another medallion in production, but that will also depend on how busy my life gets soon. I am also working on a new website for y’all, but again, when that will be implemented is up in the air. So as you can see I am still working very hard on Skin Deep, but I will have to split my attention onto other things for a little bit in order to keep my life moving in the right direction!
So, to recap: Skin Deep will still be updated as often as possible, but it may not go up like clockwork every Tuesday like it has for the last several years. Hopefully things will go back to normal in a couple of months, and I hope everybody understands! Thank you so much for reading and supporting the comic for this long, everybody, and hopefully with this move that will mean bigger and better things for Skin Deep in the future! But for the meantime, things might get a little shaky. Don’t worry! I’ll never flat out stop doing Skin Deep. I don’t think I know how to stop doing Skin Deep!

Skin Deep Wiki
Hey everybody! A lot of people were asking if I would ever make a special Skin Deep Wiki, and today I went and made one on a whim!
It is super new and the only page I have made so far is the Gryphon Page, so if anybody is inclined to add stuff to the wiki please feel free! I am super new at this and have no idea at all how to make wiki pages. But I thought since a lot of people were asking about it I would provide! Help me make it a good wiki! : )

Edit: It has been brought to my attention that Ka-Blam’s international shipping is, well, a lot, and that for my international readers it is cheaper to buy off Lulu for the more expensive price, as the shipping makes the whole thing cheaper. I didn’t know this! I have reactivated the Lulu listing on the first sketchbook and I will try to get a copy up of the second one soon for my international readers.
Some day I’ll have the time and money to buy all these things myself and ship them out personally, but my life is not quite there yet! Thanks for your patience everybody!

A note about spoilers
Hey guys, I’ve tried being nice about this, but please don’t post spoilers in the comments!
I normally haven’t minded before, since the things you can find out about the comic online are minor character details and not terribly plot-relevant, but I’ve had a few readers express disappointment in finding out spoilers without wanting to because they read the comments. I don’t want people to be afraid of reading the comments, so for the love of God, if you know something about a character that hasn’t been shown in the comic yet KEEP IT TO YOURSELF.
Consider that knowledge something special that not a lot of people know! Congrats, you dug around the internet deep enough to find something out! Now let others do the same! There’s nothing fun about just being flat-out told something, especially when you don’t want to.
I’ve had to delete some comments, and in the future I will be deleting any comment that is nothing but “hey here is the deal with character X, now you don’t have to read the comic or try to figure it out yourself”.
PLEASE DON’T DO THIS, I hate having to delete comments, but I don’t want any readers who don’t want to find out details prematurely to be accidentally spoiled! Please respect this! : )
