Honestly guys when I say that Anthony won’t find out what’s going on for awhile I mean it! Anthony turning into a confusing freaky beast is what drives the plot to get us to new locations and characters. So I mean I can just scrap all that if y’all want and tell you all what Anthony is right now, or you guys can see new Avalon locations and new characters. Just sayin’!

Honestly guys if you are expecting me to tell you what Anthony is any time soon you should probably just stop. I am a stinker that way.

Probably the most often asked question in the whole history of Skin Deep has been, surprisingly, “Can Madam U see with her snakes?” I have deliberately not answered any of those questions because I knew this page was coming up. SO HERE YOU GO, KIDS. Madam U’s snakes have limited eyesight that help her get around. Their tongues also smell her surroundings with the help of the Jacobson’s organs located in her snake’s mouths and tell her where things are located. Like she says, not as good as her old eyes, but she’s not 100% blind.

Website Status: It still seems to be screwing up with some people. I have been told that a lot of it can be resolved if you clear out your cache and reloading the page a few times, but if you do that and it’s still not working, please tell me and I’ll see if anything can be done about it. I’ve also been told that having a Girlamatic account helps for some reason. I know I sometimes can’t see it if I’m logged out, but it will appear when I am logged in. If you can’t see it it is up at the WCN mirror so you don’t have to miss it. : )

I have also been told that going directly to the comic page rather than trying to see it on the main site helps some people. Perhaps the problem has something to do with the home page code.

Heartaches 2: Explain Later

Edit: It appears that the site is still not working 100% for everybody still. Remember that the WCN mirror is still working if you cannot see the page here! Also, make sure you try clearing your cache before trying to view the page. There’s a chance that the page might be fixed, but your browser is still loading up the broken code. I don’t know if that will work or not but it’s worth a shot!

Okay! I think the site might be working again? I’ve had people tell me that it’s been slowly getting better. Please tell me if you are still having problems! I can’t do anything about the problems, but at least I’ll know if they get better.

But anyway, look Madam U! She can fix this pickle, I’m sure of it. Also fun fax: Eleanor is quadrupedal. She has the ability to walk around on her back legs, but it’s really awkward. Her natural gait is more like that of an otter’s.

I almost forgot to mention that there is a teeny tiny cameo by a couple of Sfé Monster’s characters in the second panel. I drew them so tiny you can barely see what they are, but I thought they still deserved a shout out. Although it should be mentioned that every page with Anthony and Blanche also deserves a shout-out to Sfé, since Sfé created them.

Update on Site Status

It seems that Girlamatic is tentatively back up and running for the meantime. There are still some bugs on my end, but I am not sure about bugs on the reader end. If you are still having trouble displaying pages, tell me here. I will try to keep ya’ll updated on the site status!

This site will remain as the “secondary” site (with the WCN Mirror acting as the main site and the site that the www.skindeepcomic.com URL points to) until I am positive that the site issues have been fixed. Until then I am using this time to clean up the site a little bit. I have moved the Reader Questions off the main page, but they can still be read here. I will put up a proper link to Reader Questions in the Extras section as soon as I’m able to edit pages again (this is one of the bugs that are still being worked out).

I’ve also finally uploaded all the Fanart that I have gotten over the years. It’s not in any sort of order since the page arranges the pictures on date added rather than date created and I just kinda updated them willy nilly as I went along, but they’re all there! If I missed putting up your fanart, it’s not because I hate you! It’s because I only just recently started organizing fanart in any sort of logical fashion on my computer, and it’s very possible I just forgot yours. Give it to me again and I’ll fix it!

I also moved Ridiculous Creatures into the main Skin Deep archives, so it will show up between Exchanges chapter 1 and 2 while reading through the archives. Since it has similar themes to Fiddler’s Cave I thought it would be nice to include it in the archive run.

I’ll try to keep ya’ll updated on the site status as I get news!

Exchanges 2: Heartaches

Welcome to the start of Exchanges chapter 2: Heartaches! We’ve been having some technical difficulties around Girlamatic lately, if you haven’t noticed, so we’re off to kind of a rough start, and there are still some bugs in the system. We are aware of all the bugs and the tech guys are currently working on them, so hopefully they’ll be ironed out soon. If you are having problems seeing the comic, please use the site mirror on WCN!

So chapter 2! Hooray! Hopefully this chapter will take less than a year to tell, hah hah. Sorry to everybody who was hoping to find out what Anthony is, you will have to wait a bit longer. :) Also: Hello, Anthony’s mom! Goodbye, Anthony’s mom! Her name is Ophelia, but that is not a very important detail.

Hey! I forgot to mention yesterday, but I have a Guest Strip up at The Intrepid Girlbot! Check it out! And then read the comic because it’s pretty swank!

Today’s question comes from Rin! All the drawings I’ve done of Colin or Jim as a cub has incorrectly painted all young gryphons as hyperactive trouble makers. They’re feisty like all children, but Paul was very fastidious and Tobias was pretty introverted and mellow. THE MORE YOU KNOW.

Site Problems

February 2nd update: Girlamatic is back up and running, but there are still bugs being worked out of the system. As of right now I cannot update the comic or make new blog posts. The comic is still being updated at WCN, and the www.skindeepcomic.com URL has been changed to redirect there. The www.skindeepcomic.com URL will ALWAYS point to the comic, no matter where it is being hosted.

As you all have probably noticed, the site has been acting up lately, displaying broken images, giving commenting errors, not loading all the way, etc.

I am aware of the problems. They are problems caused by Girlamatic updating Wordpress over the weekend, and I have 100% absolutely no ability to fix any of the problems. Let me repeat: I have no way to fix the problems. The people who DO have the ability to fix the problems know about it, and they’re working on fixing it, and it has gotten steadily better since the weekend. Telling me that an image isn’t working will do no good, as I am at the mercy of Girlamatic with this issue.

If you do feel the need to tell someone about the problems, you can contact Girlamatic through their twitter or make a post on the forums about it. Like I said, they are aware of the problems and we’re all working as fast as we can to fix the bugs. The problems have largely been fixed for most people, but it’s still acting up for some people.

Workarounds and Tips until the Site Is Working Properly Again
• I’ve been posting the reader questions every week at my deviantART account
• If you are trying to comment and you get an “Internal Server Error” message DON’T PANIC. 9 times out of 10 the comment has been successfully posted. Try refreshing the page to see if your comment is there before making a new comment.
• Some readers have told me that downloading the image by right-clicking on it and saving it to the desktop will work, if the image is not loading all the way.
• Try clearing our your cache, as the site problems may have been fixed, but your browser is still loading up the buggy version of the page.
• Be patient! If these problems continue into next week when the comic starts up again, I will mirror the comic over at my old WCN page, so you’ll be able to read the comic no matter what happens.

Thank you all for your patience, and I’m sorry this is happening! Just take solace that it is happening during the comic’s hiatus instead of in the middle of a comic scene, right?

I don’t mean to sound grumpy, but people keep telling me about the site errors, and it’s making me feel pretty worthless because there is nothing I can do about them!
